CONFUSION IN MONGOLIA
Let me say first of all that I love Mongolia, the people, the history and the country. I can’t wait to get back there, so any Mongolians reading this please don’t take any offence at this. But it did give me a laugh and hopefully you too.
I find that Mongolians are a quiet race, very friendly when you get to know them, and they do things in their own time. We have an excellent local operator/representative who looks after all our clients while they are in Mongolia, and they also issue some of our Trans-Siberian rail tickets. Hello to Urnaa and all your team. Thanks for the great job that you do for us!
This header picture I took in the main street of Ulaanbaatar, the capital, a couple of years ago as I was hurrying for a meeting, so I had no time to cross the road and investigate and perhaps politely explain the meaning of “destroy”.
But it gets even more confusing if you look at the name of the shop next door – “Morning Glory”. I know that the phrase has many meanings to us, but I would love to know what the owners of this shop think it means! Is it a florist? Perhaps a breakfast cafe? No idea..
So we have Morning Glory next to Destroy Hair and Beauty. I could make some sense out of that but I won’t go there. Ha Ha.
If you have any funny pics like these please send to me and I’d love to show them on my site – just let me know if you want your name mentioned. So go to it and dig out those funny “snaps” for us to enjoy.
Yours in humour (and humor)
